Our Story

In 1994, Big Sky Natural Foods Company, a small bakery in Mountain Brook, Alabama, opened its doors for the first time. The local Alabama family that started Big Sky hoped their passion & taste for all natural, whole grain breads could be shared, understood and appreciated by people far & wide. By using simple, yet high quality, ingredients Big Sky Natural Foods Company began a bread renaissance. In essence, a rebirth of what had been lost during the era of the over processed and artificial bread factory. The pent up demand for real, honest bread was evident by the daily long lines at the newly opened bakery. Today, Big Sky whole grain baked goods are carried in thousands of supermarkets across America.

The whole grain wheat at the heart of Big Sky Bread comes straight from the fertile soils of Montana’s Golden Triangle. These choice grains pack our bread with flavor and protein to deliver a satisfying and healthy slice of bakery goodness. Big Sky Granola is a versatile part of almost any meal. The mix of sesame, pumpkin and sunflower seeds combine with all natural honey and almonds to create a crunchy, preservative free granola. The new granola clusters compliment a bowl of milk or fruit and yogurt to start off the morning. They can also travel easily for an all-day, nutritious snack on the go.
